Provenance Wrap (Free Pattern)

TOOLS AND THINGS NEEDED

  1. Yarn
    For this project I used a 4 ply 100% cotton (Fingering Weight) from Baguio in two colors, red wine and old rose.
    But any type of yarn can be used. And a solid color can be used if preferred.
  2. Hook
    I used a 4 mm.
  3. Scissors
  4. Stitch marker
  5. Tapestry needle
  6. Row counter
    This would be helpful, because you need to crochet the pattern until row 17 before its repeat.

Repeat Row 3 pattern.

Repeat Row 3-17 eight times more or up to your desired length.
After the last repeat of Row 17, repeat, Row 1.
At this point the wrap is finished but if you prefer to finish it with the fringes add another row of a mesh, a ch after a dc, skipping 1 ch also. Add a row on both sides.
Add the tassel on the chain spaces.
Get a cardboard with enough length for your tassels, this will be your template for the length and wind 5 times or more. Cut one end and fold in half and slide the yarns to ch sp. You can use a large hook to pull through the yarns. Slide the hook from the wrong side of the wrap with the right side of the wrap (right side is where the fpdc’s facing up) facing up. Slide the two tail ends and cut the tail ends and tighten up.

    2. Usually after the 2nd dc2tog is ch 2 and skip 2 chains 2 dc on the next 2 chains just like before you start the 1st dc2tog but mirrored. Hope you understand what I mean.

  3. Hi! I just started this tonight. I am wondering if you could tell how many dc stitches there should be in row 1 and whether or not the ch 3 at the beginning counts as a dc? I ran out of dc stitches when working on row 2 so I assume that is my problem. Thanks!
